Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria are a set of standards for a company’s operations that socially conscious investors use to screen potential investments.
Environmental criteria consider how a company performs as a steward of nature.
Social criteria examine how it manages relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities where it operates.
Governance deals with a company’s leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights.

Problem
Customers don’t have one source of information or a way to quickly find the information they need in one place, and we want Diligent to be their “go to” product in finding information about their competitors and news.

Goal
Goal was to design a feature that would help users get educated on ESG, follow trends and get information that they would be able to use to make informed decisions in the future.

User Interviews
As the first step I interviewed some our customers. The goal of the research was to understand their needs and why they would be interested in the feature.

My job was to translate these data heavy tables into easy to understand and usable designs.

As next step I explored some UI and data viz options
MVP
Final UI for MVP. We ended up not including most of the functionalities in the mvp. As the first stage we wanted to start by introducing ESG and we would add more functionality to the feature in the second phase
Post MVP
For the second phase we added more functionality.
• Comparison tool. Users can compare their companies with other companies and they can compare their ESG scores
• Reduced the copy
• Added filtering options (date, location)
